The Sandcastle
Full DescriptionWe have 6 self-contained chalets set in peaceful gardens & native bush in beautiful Golden Bay. Golden Bay is located between The Kahurangi and Abel Tasman National Parks at the top of the South Island. All of the stunning scenery, beaches, walks and attractions of the bay are just a short distance away from your chalet. Take time and explore our site and you will find 'The Sandcastle' is unique. You will find our accommodation is excellent value, with use of sauna and spa complex included in the price. Should you stroll in the grounds you will find a tranquil pond, local sculpture, an olive grove, orchards, kitchen garden & much else. There is even a small herb garden by the laundry for your use. The gardens are very safe for children as we are a long way from the main road, and they can enjoy a forest play area with a sand pit and rope swing. A BBQ with a large table and seating area is great for families & parties. It is a very good value, often including our own fresh produce.
FacilitiesOur chalets are immediately welcoming. The furniture is handcrafted wood with many original features. They are easily warmed and insulated while the sun streams in during the afternoon. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas hob, refrigerator, microwave and everything you need to prepare a meal. The queen-size bed overlooks the deck onto the gardens and sea beyond.
DirectionsYou can find the Sandcastle by heading towards the Abel Tasman National Park from Takaka (follow signs to Pohara).
