Atea is a seaside Hideaway, "the perfect place to go when you just don't want to be found". The rate includes an organic continental breakfast, a bottle of bubbly on arrival plus the use of the Eco jeep for the full length of your stay. A breakfast hamper can also be arranged ready to cook up at your leisure. Our guests can also enjoy dual massages, a private yoga session and in house chef services on request.The Gourmet BBQ and picnic hampers are a favourite! Surrounded by the majestic beauty of rolling green farmland, flanked by Whakenewha National park with panoramic sea views of the Hauraki Gulf, and a quiet beach, Woodside Bay at the end of the property. It just doesn't get much better than this! Atea's Chalet is completely self contained giving you privacy and self sufficiency with lots of extras and attention to detail thrown in to make your holiday perfect! The chalet consists of two cosy bedrooms with combined kitchenette, lounge and dining area. 1st bedroom - Downstairs- King bed that can split to singles- panoramic water views from your bed. No need to get up at all! 2nd bedroom - Mezzanine Bedroom- Queen size bed-beautiful sea views via day and magic starry night through skylight. There is an indoor and outdoor fireplace and a selection of comfy outdoor furniture just awaiting nights toasting marshmallows and sipping on locally grown wine around the fireside. The outdoor spa offers complete privacy- perfect for a midnight skinny dip! Up to date technology includes a flat screen TV with Sky, Stereo with Ipod docking station, and study area with broadband internet access. Other Environment Friendly Initiatives

In doing our bit to help reduce carbon emissions we have converted the Chalet jeep onto bio- diesel, made the chalet so comfortable that one never wants to leave, therefore reducing emissions yet again! We installed solar panels for the electric gates, are fully on fresh filtered rain water. All cleaning products are biodegradable and safe on the environment, we also supply organic toiletries. there are often veggies in the cottage gardens, seasonally dependent. We conserve water, and ask our guests to be mindful. We compost and recycle wherever possible, and we love our environment!

Facilities

A lovely 2 bedroom cottage, tucked away in a very private 11 acres of rolling farmland and native bush on Waiheke Island, only 35min by ferry from Auckland. Stroll down to to the beach at Woodside Bay, or relax on the decks and enjoy the panoramic sea views. The chalet consists of two cosy bedrooms with combined kitchenette, lounge and dining area.

Activities

We have a fishing rod for the fisherman, golf clubs for the golfer, and maps for the walkers. Atea is located right near the largest nature reserve on the Island, which offers numerous bush walks. We also recommend hiring Kayaks to explore the water by water. Locally there is an organic lavender farm and vineyards, worth visiting and trying some of their lovely organic Syrah!

Directions

The jeep will be awaiting your arrival at Matiatia wharf. Jump in the jeep and drive out to Woodside Bay- approx 15min by car (Directions will be provided).
