Welcome to New Zealand at its Best

Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Full Description

Embracing mountain, bush and sea, Mana provides a perfect atmosphere for the enrichment of mind, body and spirit. Expansive sea views and luxuriant bush combine with the beauty of untreated natural timber buildings to create a place of harmony, healing and inspiration.

Since 1988 Mana has been offering a wide variety of experiences in the areas of body-mind education, creative expression and spiritual exploration. Our octagonal meeting room, library and dining area provide an ideal space for workshops and conferences.

Mana is also the perfect place for personal retreats. As well as lawns, decks and gardens there are 120 ha of rolling hills, bush and streams with walking tracks and special places.

There is a sauna and a sweatlodge and on-site professional therapists offer massage, watsu and bodywork. We are available for eco and esoteric tour groups and, using adjoining accommodation, can accommodate up to 60 people for groups of this nature.

Please check Organic Explorer Events Page for the 2010 Mana Retreat schedule.

Directions

Mana is situated 20 minutes south of Coromandel Town, a two-hour drive from Auckland or Hamilton. From Thames take State Highway 25 along the pohutakawa-fringed coast line. After 38 kms you will see the entrance to Mana on the right.

Driving from Thames:
From Thames take Hwy 25 toward Coromandel. After about 30 mins on the coast road you will come to Wilson Bay after which the highway turns inland and uphill. After a short dip the road rises again to Manaia Summit and Rest Area. From here proceed 2 kms downhill looking for the sign on the right “Mana Retreat 300m”. Turn right into the drive. If arriving after dark, the drive is marked by a series of red reflectors on stockyard fencing. Passing a side road to the left, continue up the drive to the fishpond and palm. The Centre is on the left and the office is through the double doors. The car park is a few metres beyond the centre.
