Welcome to New Zealand at its Best

Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Full Description

Come join us and share in our healthy, sustainable, organic lifestyle.

We have just completed a gorgeous ecohome, on 9 acres just 10 minutes drive from Nelson.
Our home is completely self-sufficient...solar-powered and heated, harvesting rainwater, LED lighting, grey water system, composting toilet.  It is built predominantly of sustainably-harvested, recyclable, recycled, and local materials.
The interior is finished using only solid wood, no pressed board or plywood anywhere, and is furnished with the most natural, sustainable furnishings and textiles, as well as fair trade items.  We feed our waste to the worms and use it in our organic gardens.

We take healthy, sustainable and organic very seriously, down to the smallest detail.  We hope to inspire you, as well as help you feel at home, relaxed, and without a care.  You will be pampered on organic mattresses and bedding, and if desired, there are organic vegetarian meals designed to your needs and preferances.

Come visit our healthy sanctuary, away from the cares of the world.  Relax and Retreat...or let us show you the stunning sites nearby.  We can link you with the finest healers, massage therapists, yoga, or whatever you desire...how about a sacred journey?

Come for adventure...or healing.

We offer our guest bedroom as a b&b.  The room has gorgeous views, much light, and its own entrance opening onto a deck with views to the West and Mt Arthur across the Tasman Bay, as well as to the North and the Tasman Sea.  There is a double bed with an organic mattress and organic sheets and duvet, a large window seat (almost twin size organic futon) and a shared bath (with just the host...the compost toilet is in its own room, as well as the shower/tub overlooking the view... sharing is easy) B&b includes a delicious all organic breakfast, usually homemade muesli, yoghurt, and fruits of the season...plus organic coffee or tea.  In cooler weather, a hot breakfast can be provided.  Lunch and dinner are also available, upon request.  (We are beginning to get known for our food...always fresh from local organic sources...we can include fish if you like, otherwise all vegetarian.  We  cater to any dietary needs so don't hesitate to ask.)

The entire house can sometimes be rented as well.  Additionally,  a small cottage is occasionally available.  Please enquire.

We look forward to sharing with you our home and lifestyle, which is the ultimate in healthy, eco, and organic!

The hospitality is just fantastic and your cooking is great. We appreciate that everything is for good health on body and soul.

We slept like roses (Dutch saying!) and enjoyed our breakfast with all of our favorite fruits and homemade muesli.

This was a wonderful stay, so peaceful, a place with everything thought of and most of all a charming, warm, and so welcoming host...and delicious organic food cooked for us. We feel so sad that it's time to leave already.

The bach is lined with macrocarpa giving the place a lovely faint scent on arrival. Anyone interested in power saving/production/self-sufficiency would find their stay very informative (owner designs eco housing).
The views are as good as they get. The place is very quiet, up a hill looking over its own 9 acres of woodland. It was a 4 minute drive to the marine reserve so very handy if you intend to dive.
The house is very nicely furnished and comfortable.
Highly recommended.
