Welcome to New Zealand at its Best

Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Full Description

A gorgeous luxury country hotel set on Lake Karapiro. The Lodge boasts 5 superking suites within and 3 garden villas adjacent on a 17 acre working farm. Ultimate relaxation starts by the roaring fire in the winter with a good book and fine dining in our new al la carte restaurant. Chef uses our homegrown produce and fresh herbs to create some sumptuous old fashion cuisine to soothe the soul. Preserves, jellies, and chutneys that compliment each dish are harvested from the fruit and nut trees on the grounds. Enjoy the ultimate view from the Lodge or your own balcony over looking the infinity pool, formal gardens, and lake beyond. Peace and quite, the perfect retreat for the travel weary. To the other side of the lodge lays Maungatautari Ecological Island Reserve where many NZ natives have been reintroduced including the iconic Kiwi and Takahe. 57km perimeter around the base of the bush has been pest proof fenced and introduced pests have been eliminated, creating the perfect environment for those species that existed 100’s of years ago to flourish once again. 20min drive south of the Lodge you can visit a test enclosure where an award winning structure built into the tree tops has been erected so we can get a bird’s eye view of a pre- historic wonderland. There are guided night tours available. Other activities include: - kayaking, jet skiing, water skiing, wakeboarding, donutting, sailing and boat tours on the lake, horse riding, horse stud tours, and antique shopping on land.
