Welcome to New Zealand at its BestOrganic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand. Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences. But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination. Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses. Ora Bed and Breakfast and Tea Shop
Full DescriptionWe are Ora - The Garden of Wellbeing. Our little farm is situated at 700m asl within a landscape of karst marble outcrops and limestone. There is mystique and magic here especially as the cloud drifts through, but also as the sun comes up over the mountains across the bay. We have fenced a few hectares for beef grazing and breeding, and are developing pathways beyond the fences and amongst the peace of huge old Beech trees and their understory of regenerating native bush. The house is just meters from the highway, but feels removed from it immediately once beyond the shelter trees and upon entering the garden and lawns. We try to live as sustainably as our lifestyle allows, keep our footprint as light as possible and enjoy each moment. The B & B suite is slightly separate from the house so that guests can choose their own level of interaction or privacy. We can provide an evening meal created from homegrown and local produce from simple soup to substantial farm food. Organic MealsMeals are prepared using mainly homegrown organic meat and vegetables. These can be served with local organic wines and beers. Our coffee is always organic as are the garden herbs used in teas.
