Welcome to New Zealand at its BestOrganic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand. Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences. But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination. Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses. Okuti Garden
Full DescriptionNot quite a backpackers or a B&B and not your usual homestay, we've thought of calling it a 'garden stay'. Accommodation includes yurts, tipi, house truck and earth brick studio all set out around ponds and streams, fruit and nut trees, sunny meadows and organic vege gardens. The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet. No white water helicopter power bungy rides around here! (although you can swim with the dolphins over the hill in Akaroa Harbour). The garden has lots of quiet nooks and crannies; great places to read, meditate or practice yoga. There's also lots of space for kids and adults to play. We provide an art box and games, but there's no TV! There are basic cooking facilities depending on which accommodation you choose. And you're welcome to help yourself to fresh herbs from the garden. We can do breakfast as long as we get plenty of warning ($15), and on Saturday evening you can join us for a great vege feast ($20. December to March only.) We are 4km from the head of the Little River Rail Trail and well situated for exploring the rest of the amazing Banks Peninsula. There are bicycles for hire in the village. Accommodation Type Yurts, tipis, house truck, en sute studio and farm house. Self catering. Breakfast available if booked in advance. Vegetarian feast on Saturday nights (December to March).
