Welcome to New Zealand at its Best

Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Full Description

Join our family for a half day tour that combines laughter learning and storytelling with hands on activities and a bushwalk to discover traditional uses of trees and plants.  Kaikoura is an area of immense natural beauty with dramatic land and seascapes; a place where man feels insignificant in the presence of nature's wonders. Maori people have lived along this coastline for more than 800 years and hidden in the landscape are relics of the past and stories waiting to be told. Those people are our ancestors, these are our stories and Kaikoura is where our fires burn - we call that 'Ahi Ka'. We'll take you to our special places for storytelling and you'll be involved right from the start as you join in customs and learn our ways.  You can try weaving with harakeke, the native flax plant, learn a Maori greeting and much more. Midway through we'll stop for light refreshments and then it's on to explore one of Kaikoura's bush walkways where our passionate guides share some of the traditional uses of trees and plants as food and medicine. You will be part of real cultural exchange that offers deep insight and understanding of Maori people and way of life; as well as our values and spiritual connections to the natural world.
