Welcome to New Zealand at its Best

Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Full Description

Lochmara Lodge Wildlife Recovery and Arts Centre is an eco- and art- retreat set on the tranquil shores of the Marlborough Sounds. Built by locals Shayne Olsen and Louise Bright, the Lodge has been operating since 1997. One aspect that has remained constant over that time is our continued dedication towards conservation, art, and education. We aim to provide a destination where day visitors and overnight guests can come learn, interact and appreciate New Zealand’s flora, fauna and art, while still offering a superb accommodation and dining experience. The Lodge offers chalet and unit accommodation, a fully licensed cafe/restaurant, and day tours, just a 15 minute water taxi ride from Picton. For the more adventurous souls there are cruise, walk, and bike options via the Queen Charlotte Track. Once here you'll discover bush walks on our character filled 11-acre predator-free property, breeding programmes with endangered species, native birds, glow-worms, a self-guided eco tour, safe swimming beach, kayaks, and a sculpture trail and art galleries. Treat yourself to a spa, massage and the best of Marlborough's local food and wine at our licensed restaurant. "Once discovered... never forgotten..."
