Welcome to New Zealand at its Best

Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Full Description

Wrights Wines was established at the turn of the century (2000) by Geoff and Nicola Wright. Wine making is in Geoff's blood, his Great-Grandfather Stanko Jurakovich began producing wines in the Kumeu Valley, Auckland in 1931.

In September 2005, Wrights Wines planted out its organic vineyard in the renowned grape growing region of Ormond Valley, Gisborne. Our wine growing philosophy is to promote bio-diversity by adding positive micro-organisms, using compost sprays, planting natives and not using harmful chemicals such as fungicides, insecticides or herbicides. Our aim is to produce quality wines, with minimal additives.

We strive for environmental, social and economic sustainability. In May 2008, our vineyard was certified organic. We anticipate making the first organic wines from our vineyard in the 2008/209 vintage.

We will be able to offer you certified organic wines in 2009. Currently, we have available Wrights GW Chardonnay 2007. This wine was made from conventional grapes.

The wine is vegan friendly, as we do not add any animal by-products, such as gelatin, casein and milk powder, in the fining process. Our wines are not just for vegans and vegetarians, but for those who enjoy unique wines with complex, fruity flavours.
