Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Turanga Creek produce award winning boutique wine from their hand-tendered vineyards.

Turanga Creek has adopted organic practices and is on track to be certified organic in 2011.  We plan on becoming the first certified Auckland organic vineyard, using Biodynamic practices in 2012.

Biodynamics is an organic approach where the farm is viewed as a living whole; each farm activity affects the others. Organic practices include crop rotation, recycling through composts and liquid manures.  Biodynamics leads to a natural reduction of pests and diseases in plants and animals, and an increase in the nutritive and health giving value of the grapes.

The quality of Turanga Creek’s wine has been recognised by winning some prestigious awards.  Most recently the 2008 Pinot Gris won a Gold Medal at the 2009 Guangdong International Wines & Spirits Competition.
