Welcome to New Zealand at its Best

Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

“A beautiful night I will never forget!”
(Reviewed May 27, 2011) Firstly I would love to thank the wonderful staff members we got the privilege to meet! Jamie, Charlie and Alex you we're all so amazing! My partner bought me here for my birthday and I can say without a doubt it was the best birthday so far. The service we received was exquisite! I left there feeling like a queen :)

Secondly I would like to say to all couples out there touring New Zealand stop into Le Manoir Restaurant! and experience a very beautiful night! We will definitely be returning again with our friends!

“Excellent!!”
(Reviewed May 27, 2011) We went to Le Manoir the night before it was due to close over winter, so it might have been reasonable to expect standards to have slipped before the staff went on holiday. However, it was absolutely excellent. It is on the same level as many of the best restaurants we've been to such as Saffron in Arrowtown. Both the food and service were excellent, and we enjoyed briefly chatting to the amiable and talented chef. The only improvement I could suggest would be a slightly larger wine list

“Cozy, great service”
(Reviewed May 30, 2011) Excellent stay. Hosts are very welcoming, organized and full of good recommendations for activities and dining. Chef was excellent and passionate about the art of cooking. The lodge felt very comfortable and cozy. Nice location near town but far enough away to avoid the sulphur smell of Rotorua. Very well kept grounds. Great views from every room. Loved the pre-loaded itunes in the room. We also enjoyed the nuts and cookies in the room. One of the highlights of our trip and we would definitely stay again.

“One of the nicest places we have ever stayed”
(Reviewed June 22, 2011) My husband and I stayed at the Hamurana Lodge as part of our honeymoon in December 2010 (this review is well over due!). It was a real highlight of our trip to New Zealand. We stayed at the lodge over Christmas and Alex and Fred went out of their way to make us feel incredibly welcome and well looked after. In fact it felt more like staying with friends than being in a hotel. The facilities were fantastic from a gorgeously relaxing room to a very well stocked bar and the food cooked by Charlie was just fantastic. I would recommend the Hamurana Lodge to anyone and hope that we can return to stay there again one day.
