Enjoy the beach and great food... Slowfish is a smart, modern and friendly cafe opposite the Main Beach of Mt Maunganui, under the Towers, catering for the discerning foodie and coffee lover. Owners Brigitte and Joshua have been in hospitality in Tauranga for over 10 years.

After selling "Shiraz" they travelled the Mediterranean on a food itinerary that took them from Greece to Morocco. Inspiration from this trip resulted in quality food that is tasty and reflecting gastronomic diversity.

The name Slowfish is derived from Slowfood, an Italian movement promoting high quality food that is locally produced and prepared and opposes the standardisation of the opposite "fastfood". The movement encourages the use of organic healthy raw ingredients which Joshua calls "cleanfood". This is a major influence at the cafe using free range eggs, free range bacon and ham, organic flour and wholemeal breads in all baking and menu.

Slowfish Beach Front Cafe is open 7 days a week from 7am and have an all day breakfast menu and lunch runs until late afternoon. Next time at the beach come and slowdown at Slowfish.

Sunny Sunday afternoon, and this beachfront cafe was packed - the reason being it is the locals favourite.
Would be mine too if we lived around here. Really nice menu and delicious food cooked with care.
We'll be back.
