Welcome to New Zealand at its Best

Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Full Description

The café has been open for twelve years with many changes along the way. The pursuit of excellence was our original vision, where having sustainable organic wholefoods would be the norm, available to all. This has remained our focus. In the winter of 2007 an exciting expansion to the building was undertaken with increased size of the kitchen, dining areas, decks and an upstairs function room facilities added. Examples of the menu and beverages can be viewed on our website: www.hislops-wholefoods.co.nz The café is fully licensed with an extensive range of organic wines, beers and freshly made cocktails available from the Bar. We recently were in Kaikoura and as usual called in to Hislops cafe as it is a long time favourite of mine. Have to say the food and coffees were spectacular. Just wanted to write and say thanks. it is amazing to taste real food when you are on the road. Bought some wholewheat flour as well to bring home with me.

Hi

On Sunday 23 May 2010, I went to this cafe (for my 3rd visit in as many years, as I'm from out of town.)
I ordered a coffee and was tempted by the cabinet food showing cakes etc.
The staff member who served me noticed my interest so I ordered a slice of Coffee Cake w cream. Sadly is was extremely dry.
On leaving I met her at the cash register and asked when the cake was made. She was not sure, but happily took my money ($10) after I had complained of the dryness.
The cake was 'going to the kitchen' she said to be ascertained of that by kitchen staff.

My point is, when you have customers and they complain about something, you fix it. I was willing to pay something for the portion I ate, but feel full price was a bit rich.
There are other cafes about.
