Welcome to New Zealand at its BestOrganic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand. Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences. But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination. Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses. Aroha Organic Goat Cheese
Full DescriptionWe are a small Artisan Cheesemaking Co with a BIG personal touch. We are Bio Gro certified organic (4181) and NZFSA registered (9682). We farm a small flock of Saanen and Anglo Nubian girls and produce a Dutch style Gouda cheese from their beautiful healthy milk.We love our girls and we try to provide them with a happy and healthy lifestyle as close as is possible to their natural habitat by providing a variety of pastures, herbal lays, trees and shrubs. We don`t feed grain as apart from a small treat of organic barley to the girls on the milking stand. We are not producing JUST cheese, each cheese is a little journey starting with healthy pastures, to happy healthy girls, to happy milking and cheese making to a beautiful hand crafted organic cheese. We sell via our website www.organicgoatcheese.co.nz and courier out nationwide. We mostly make to order therefore a waiting time will apply most of the time except for standing orders. We sometimes have “lucky dip” orders, those are spare small wheels which can be any flavour and customers just take whatever is there, this is very popular. We produce a Gouda Plain and a further 9 different Gouda Herbal varieties. At this stage as per NZ law, the milk for cheese production has to be pasteurised first however it is our goal and dream to produce raw milk cheeses as well so or customers have a choice. We have a big demand for raw milk cheeses. At the moment we are working together with NZFSA to achieve this. However we are allowed to sell organic raw milk gate here at the farm gate as per NZFSA regulations 5L per person/day for own consumption only and to bring own container. Because we farm in accordance to nature we don`t produce any cheeses during June and July when our girls are on Maternity leave.
