Welcome to New Zealand at its Best

Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Directions

Getting to Parito:

Travelling from Raglan two ways to go:

Raglan via Te Mata Road:

1. Head out towards Hamilton on the main Highway 23. About five minutes down the road, turn right at Te Mata Road (A large sign to Bridal Veil falls is also indicated at this turn off). Travel about 5 minutes along this road then turn right into Ruapuke Road. (You will see Te Mata school on this corner as you turn). Travel for a further 15 minutes or so along Ruapuke Road which becomes Whaanga Road as it nears the ocean. There are some sections of gravel along these roads and travelling with lights on is a good plan. Parito is found on the left side a few minutes after you go through the Ruapuke Reserve and just before the Ruapuke Motor Camp. (This way is about 30 minutes)

(Make sure, especially, to turn right into Ruapuke Road just BEFORE the Te Mata School. If you miss this turn off you will head towards Kawhia)

2. Raglan around the coast:

Travel out past Manu Bay and Whale Bay and continue on around the mountain. When you get to the Ruapuke Motor Camp, we are the next place on the right. (This way is about 40 minutes. The road is mostly gravel, quite narrow and the view expansive. Travel with your lights on.)

Travelling by car from Hamilton:

From the Dinsdale roundabout in Hamilton, take Highway 23 (the road to Raglan). Continue on past Te Uku and turn left at Te Mata Road. (A large sign to Bridal Veil falls is also indicated at this turn off). Travel about 5 minutes along this road then turn right into Ruapuke Road. (You will see Te Mata school on this corner as you turn). Travel for a further 15 minutes or so along Ruapuke Road which becomes Whaanga Road as it nears the ocean. There are some sections of gravel along these roads and travelling with lights on is helpful for vision. Parito is found on the left side just before the Ruapuke Motor Camp.

Travelling by bus from Hamilton to Raglan:

Buses leave from The Transport Centre (Anglesea Street) 10.15am; 3.45pm; 5.40pm Monday to Friday and 10.15am and 3.45pm Saturday and Sunday. We can collect you from Raglan or Te Uku (cost $20). Buses leave from other city destinations at different times. Phone 0800 428 75463 for more information.

If you are tired and exhausted by the endless rat race and you need time and space to stop and think; to reflect; to rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit Parito Yoga resort is THE place to do it. let me tell you about my experience. I arrived from europe fully jet lagged, my body 'violated' by narrow aircarft seat; my stomach spoiled by airplane food and these magical people brought me back to life in just 5 days. You arrive at their magical place in full lush green bush and nearby beach of 2km that you can have completely to yourself. They look after you, they cook for you; while at the same time they let you be. They are utmostly and fully dedicated to sustainable living and healing of people and earth. They cook by using all ingredients from their garden; they make their own honey; they make your bath from which you can see the Ruapuke bay; they even provide you with eco shampoos so they don't spoil earth with anything chemical!! How magical and how encouraging that we can create sustainable Earth after all and that there are people who work on that. The place is superbly clean; there are only 2 rooms so max 4 people can stay at the same time (there are 2 bathrooms to share). Yoga classes are superb and given with special personal attention. You can also experience silence meditation which I warmly recommend because it does bring you in touch with yourself. Honestly, I got seriously changed there and have re-entered the outside work with new presence and new self-awarenes. I truly and warmly recommend it (I'm an academic by profession so please trust me as I would be critical if there would be anything to be critical of). Enjoy. You gonna love it.
