Within earshot of the sea at Takou Bay and surrounded by 150 acres of certified organic pasture, native bush and 5 acres of organic sub-tropical gardens, the 3 self catering cottages and recently completed Lodge provide boutique self-catering accommodation that is eco-friendly yet still indulgent.

Choose from Magic Cottage, a cosy solar powered studio perched on the river bank - the perfect romantic retreat complete with luxurious al fresco claw foot bath overlooking the river; or Summer and River Cottages, 2-bedroom cottages built with environmental sensitivity and set in the beautiful gardens a minutes walk from the riverbank. Each cottages has its own private romantic al fresco claw foot bath either perched on the cottage deck (River Cottage) or hidden in the gardens at the beautiful Summer House (Summer Cottage). Finally The Lodge, our most luxurious accommodation with it wonderful views to the river, log fire, spa bath, beautifully appointed kitchen, spacious super-king and king bedrooms and soaring cathedral ceilings.

Magic Cottage - romantic studio cottage perhced on the river bank; super king bed and en suite. Stunning al fresco claw foot bath on deck.

River and Summer Cottages – 2 bedroom cottages (1 king/twin ensuite + 1 queen ensuite bedroom per cottage); open plan living, dining and fully equipped kitchen and spacious hall. Cosy wood fire and private romantic al fresco claw foot bath at each cottage.

The Lodge - 2 bedroom luxurious property, large open plan living area, beautifully appointed kitchen, expansive river views, cosy wood fire, luxurious spa bath, super king and king bedrooms with en suite bathrooms.

All meals are self catering. Local gourmet organic hampers available by prior request.

Free WiFi, Broadband Internet and local calls are available from the Office and there is no cell phone coverage. The cottages all have CD players and i-pod docs and are TV-free. A DVD player, books, CDs and magazines are available.

Guests have access to all the amenities at Takou River including free kayaks, canoes and fishing rods; private Boathouse and Jetty; beautiful private river frontage, secluded swimming spots, established sub-tropical gardens and 150 acre organic farm, and of course the beautiful deserted sandy beaches a short paddle downstream at Takou Bay.
Enjoy the flourishing birdlife; wander the beautiful riverbank through native bush; escape the noise and stress of daily life in the enchanted gardens; borrow a rod and fish or find your own secluded swimming spot in the river; paddle a kayak from the Boathouse to deserted sandy beaches; relax, refresh and romance in your very own private al fresco claw foot bath – or simply bask in the bliss of doing absolutely nothing.
