Welcome to New Zealand at its Best

Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Full Description

An eco-state of consciousness is well established at Tira Ora, including a hydro generator to power our entire estate of 14 buildings set on 550 acres in the beautiful Pelorus Sound.

Developed by volunteers over the past decade: organic practices, alternative energy, healthy food, native bush, land and sea activities, exotic animals, solar showers, composting toilets, large meeting rooms, arts and crafts, woodworking, clay and stone sculpting, hut building, natural spa activities, musical instruments and recording studio, cultural exchange, and large library, swinging hammocks – everything to keep you as busy or restful as you wish.

We are able to host both small and large groups.  A warm welcome awaits you - Haere Mai!
