Welcome to New Zealand at its Best

Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Full Description

The Awatere Tussock Track is a 3 day unguided walk through the back country of Glen Orkney, the Harvey family farm in the Awatere Valley of Marlborough.
This exhilarating and engaging walk takes you through rolling tussock covered hills, along bush clad creeks and out into the rugged high country where the mountain views are spectacular.
Along the way you walk through reserves of protected , regenerating native plants and through grazing merino sheep. These sheep provide wool for the famous Icebreaker brand of clothing.
The welcoming and clean accommodation provides walkers with tramping luxuries such as a  comfortable bed, hot shower, flush toilet and fridge.
The  26km  track requires walkers to have a good level of fitness and agility and is not suitable for young children.

The farm showcases an integrated approach to farming and conservation practice and was the winner of The Marlborough Rural Environmental Awards  2005.
