Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Wish! is a new inner city home style B and B. We are relaxed and flexible and have travelled ourselves so want to offer you all the features that made us say " We wish all B and B's had this!" Family friendly features, Interaction from you hosts... as much or as little as you need...Lots of towels... Local Art etc.

We hope your stay with us will be everything you could Wish! for. Wish! was designed and built in 2007/08 with a sustainable future as a high priority. The build focused on minimal wastage, natural thermal properties and longevity of the building. We use eco- friendly cleaning products, organic produce and products where possible. We aim to keep our carbon footprint small by shopping locally, recycling and supporting the freegan culture of waste redistribution and recycling.

Our well composted garden is planted with a variety of herbs, vegetables and fruits.

Wish! is vegetarian and vegan friendly and we make all of our own cakes, cookies and snacks fresh for you to enjoy.

Organic Meals

Vegetarian Breakfast included. Organic, Rice and Soy Milk always available. Tasty apples or homemade cookies in your room. Vegan/Vegetarian Friendly. FLEXIBLE food options. We offer an off the day menu for evening meals. (A small extra charge/Koha applies). Typical fare includes made from scratch Pizza, Pasta, Slow Cooked NZ lamb or BBQ. There are always two courses plus salad and bread. Vegetarian/Vegan as required. The wine gods are very kind to us so we are happy to share their generosity.... a nice glass of local white on the deck with some homemade dips and organic bread... sublime!

Facilities

Wish! has 2 queen sized bedrooms that have a large bathroom with bath in between. Great for couples travelling together or family groups. We accommodate only one party at a time. The beds are double pocket sprung with memory foam and our sheets are 1000 thread count, 100% cotton. Guest robes, magazines and fresh flowers are in your room. TV Space sand Lounge available for you use.

Activities

Wish! is close to the city and there are heaps of fun things to do within walking distance. We will drop you at The Information Centre if required so you can plan a great time in Christchurch.

Directions

Wish! is at 38 Edgeware Rd. 2 minutes from the Edgeware Village We are a 10-15 minute walk north of The Square or a 5minute bus ride. We will e-mail you detailed directions when you book.

What a great place to stay, totally relaxing and everything was included in the room rate. Ngarie and Garry were great hosts and really helped us have a wonderful time in New Zealand.

The B and B is close to town and exactly as described, if not better. The bathroom is really big.The beds are great. Our breakfasts were huge, tasty and mostly organic. Ngarie offered lots of choices each day. We especially loved the fruit plate with nuts and organic soy yoghurt.

The extra treats and lovely NZ wine that appeared before we went out for dinner was really appreciated. As were the free maps and snacks for the road!

We stayed three nights and wish it could have been longer.
