Welcome to New Zealand at its Best

Organic Explorer has carved out a name for itself as a comprehensive resource for travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences in New Zealand.

Through its website and travel guides, it has provided travellers with an abundance of information about everything from organic cafe's and eco-lodges to nature tourism and Maori cultural experiences.

But Organic Explorer’s efforts have gone further than just informing travellers about the variety of eco-friendly experiences available in New Zealand. It has also helped raise international awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination.

Eco-tourism experiences feature on many international visitors’ holiday plans and that will only increase Organic Explorer’s relevance to visitors and local eco-tourism businesses.

Tour Options Include:

1. Original Christchurch Bike Tour

The best way to see Christchurch is by bike! The city is beautiful, with large green parks, many lovely gardens and the gently meandering Avon River flowing through the heart of it. On the two hour tour, you will see what will take about 4 hours by foot, yet you still smell the fresh air, and we are not restricted to the roads. The tour visits Riccarton Bush, Deans Cottage, The Arts Centre, Antigua Boatsheds, Mona Vale, Hagley Park, Bridge of Remembrance and a small section of the red zone . The city is perfect for cycling, as it is very flat and has many purpose build cycle-ways.

2. Christchurch Farmers' Market Bike Tour

Enjoy a pleasant two hour guided bicycle tour out to the Christchurch Farmers' Markets to sample some of Canterbury's finest organic produce and mingle with the locals while soaking up the ambience and listening to live music.

We go at a leisurely pace making the tour suitable for all fitness levels and ages over 13 years old. We use bicycle paths and quiet streets for your safety. Comfortable bikes and modern helmets are provided.  We use retro style bikes, each with a bell and basket on the front for your bag and camera.

We have been visiting relatives in Christchurch this past week and decided to join the bike tour to see some of the city highlights and earthquake damage. It was very interesting and great to get some inside knowledge from the guide on what's going on in the city as we don't hear much on the news anymore. The highlight for me was Deans bush - we walked through there and it was very inspiring to hear how the Deans family set up in Canterbury. We both recommend this tour - it is easily achievable for the general public - completely flat and easy paced.
