Since 1993 PRANA celebrates a New Year Festival of Music, Workshops, Arts & Dance, bringing together artists from New Zealand and around the world.
Once again the17th PRANA Festival 2009 will be held on the Eco Estate of 100acre natural site, coastal positioning with native forest.
This years five day event of music, workshops and shopping will start on 9am Tuesday 30 Dec. 2008 to Saturday 3 Jan. 2009 (departure date Sunday 4 January 2009).
In secured, isolated privacy, Prana Eco Spiritual Retreat is within walking distance of a 5km pristine beach with 155 million-sq. km. of Pacific Fresh Air system in front of it.
The Coromandel is a world renowned holiday destination for deep sea and big game fishing as well as sailing and cruising throughout the many picture perfect islands, bays and coves. It is also known for its dolphin and whale watching, its secluded beaches, lush native bush walks and historic attractions.

PRANA ECO RETREAT is located just north of Whangamata at Opoutere.
From Auckland about 2 hours driving
* Take the State Highway -1- to the south.
* Over the Bombay hills turn left and take the -2- for Coromandel - Peninsula.
* Turn left and take the -25- for Coromandel/Thames.
* From Kopu take the -25a- to Whangamata.
* Over the hills turn right to take the -25- to Whangamata.
* Turn left at Opoutere.
* Once you turn off at Opoutere follow the Opoutere Rd. which turns into Ohui Rd. (gravel road, drive slowly).
* Near the end by the sign 'PRANA' turn right, enter, and follow the signs and register at the designated point.
From Tauranga about 1 1/2 hours driving
* Take the State Highway -2- to Waihi.
* From Waihi take the -25- to Whangamata.
* ast Whangamata, direction Thames/Hikuai, turn right at Opoutere.
* Once you turn off at Opoutere follow the Opoutere Rd. which turns into Ohui Rd. (gravel road, drive slowly).
* Near the end by the sign 'PRANA' turn right, enter, and follow the signs and register at the designated point.
From Hamilton about 2 hours driving
* Take the 26 to Morrinsville, Te Aroha, Paeroa and either choose Kopu (see From Auckland) or Waihi (see from Tauranga) to reach the turnoff Opoutere.
* Once you turn off at Opoutere follow the Opoutere Rd. which turns into Ohui Rd. (gravel road, drive slowly).
* Near the end by the sign 'PRANA' turn right, enter, and follow the signs and register at the designated point.
If you dont have a car you should inquire at the Intercity bus company on 09 6231503. There is a bus route running to Hikuai, stopping at Prescott Garage. This is the nearest bus stop to the festival. From there you will need to hitch a ride to Opoutere in the direction of Whangamata.
