                                                 Nature's Garden B&B

Be touched by nature. Visit our farm and macadamia nut orchards, situated in a truly beautiful valley,  surrounded by mature native forest of which 32 acres are protected by QEII Trust, at the southern end of Great Barrier Island. It is about 40 minutes by plane from NZ's largest city, Auckland, or 4 1/2 hours by ferry to get to the island.
Once you are here, you can unwind and go for a stroll through park-like orchards, stop at our lily-ponds and watch the endangered Brown Teal ducks. Be amazed by the friendly and inquisitive Kakas (native parrot). Discover our stand of ancient Kauri trees on one of our many bush-walks.
The tramping track to Rosalie Bay, famous for its fishing and diving amongst the locals, will take you about 35 minutes. It will give you great views over our valley and to Cuvier Is. and the Mercury Islands beyond.
Use our place as a base from which to explore the many other attractions the Barrier has to offer, like the Hot Springs in Kaitoke Valley, amazing Surf Beaches, the Kauri-Dams near Port Fitzroy or walk up Mt.Hobson, the highest peak on the island.
After a day of exploring just relax on our extensive decks and manicured lawns, enjoying the peace and quiet our place has to offer.

Our guest-facilities consist of 3 bedrooms (sleeps 6/7), a shared bathroom and living area, all in a separate wing of the house. The use of natural timber and other unique features lend the house its warm and welcoming ambience.

A healthy breakfast with organic produce, wherever possible, will be served with fresh farm eggs and organic coffee. Lunch packets and home cooked dinners are available on request for a small extra charge.

Visitors who like to learn about organics are welcome and invited to a hands on experience. Peter would only be too happy to share his knowledge of biodynamic farming and gardening and introduce you to the Philosophy of Rudolf Steiner and his teachings in general.

A diverse bird-life will attract ornithologists and nature lovers.
