The Comvita Visitor Centre has three main attractions - an educational gallery, an auditorium and retail outlet.

The gallery display will walk you through the history of Comvita, the development of our natural health products and will demonstrate our commitment to sustaining the fantastic clean and pure New Zealand environment from which we source our ingredients.

The Comvita Visitor Centre is Qualmark accredited. Qualmark is a quality standard which rates our adhereance to good business practices in the following areas:

This standard is internationally accepted by international inbound tour operators and tourists alike.


Our new auditorium will take you on a virtual tour of our factory. This will show how the natural raw materials are collected and then processed to create the products we know and love today. You will gain a valuable insight into how the honey bee helps us in health. A personal guide will be available to answer any questions.

In our retail outlet we have trained Naturopaths and health specialists to discuss your health needs. Plus, of course, the full range of Comvita products. Each week we have factory specials and bulk buying opportunities.

Bay of Plenty, New Zealand – Comvita Visitor Centre has achieved the prestigious GREEN GLOBE 21 Benchmarked Certificate under the new GREEN GLOBE 21 Certification program, which recognises the operation’s commitment to operating at the world’s highest environmental standard.



Comvita Visitor Centre has spent considerable time benchmarking its energy and water consumption, waste production and disposal as well as implementing an integrated environmental and social policy. In particular it has achieved Best Practice results in Energy Consumption and Resource Conservation. These measures will deliver ongoing reduction of non-renewable resources, extensive cost savings and secure a sustainable commercial and ecological future for the business.
