Philosophy
Rainbow Valley Farm was established in 1988 by Joe Polaischer and Trish Allen. The 20 ha. organic farm was designed on permaculture principles and ethics.
The farm has become known as a model of permaculture and now we run tours and workshops each summer to share what we have learnt with others.
We also take in a small number of interns and volunteers who work with us on the farm and take part in our daily lives.

International PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE
with Darren Doherty
1-15 February 2011
This course enables participants to gain a permaculture design certificate (PDC) while studying on a working permaculture farm.
This is an intensive 14-day course, where you have the chance to get fully immersed in the permaculture way of thinking and acting.
Darren Doherty is an Australian who has been teaching permaculture for 16 years in Australia, New Zealand, United States, Argentina, Spain and Vietnam. He is an experienced and sought after designer with more than 1,200 designs to his name.
The course will:

give you a good understanding of the ethics, principles and patterns of permaculture design

convey a general understanding of a wide range of common strategies and techniques

explore the implications of social change towards ecological sustainability

practice the design methodology amongst the group, supervised by the tutors

assist each student to access resources required to actively take the course philosophy and methodology into their future lives.
Price: $1,650 to $2,210 depending on accommodation needs. We are offering a range of options on or off Rainbow Valley Farm.
